Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which clinician is right for me?

People most often seek therapy because they want to be happier and more content in their lives.  This means different things for different people such as gaining new skills and strategies to cope in situations, understanding and changing negative patterns of behaviour (e.g. addictions, intimacy concerns), coping with stressors, personal growth or well-being or just to be validated that they're "okay".

How do I know which clinician is right for me?

Finding the right fit is essential for successful therapy. We encourage you to review the biographies of our practitioners to get a sense of their areas of interest and clinical style.

Most psychologists offer a free 10-minute consultation - by talking with the psychologist in advance of booking an apointment, you wil get a sense of howe the psychologist works (modalities used and therapeutic approach).  We are most concerned that you will be getting the help you are looking for.

Is there parking available?

Yes, there is accessible parking available for our clients. We are located in the Queen Alexandra neighborhood, and there is some street parking in the immediate vicinity of the clinic, as well as designated spots at the back of the building marked "One Hour Parking", or underground for a fee.

Do you offer coffee or refreshments?

We want you to feel at home during your visit. We provide tea and water, in our waiting area for you to enjoy before your session begins.  If you are looking for coffee nearby, may we suggest Mood Cafe or La Bosco Cafe.

Can I bring my pet?

Yes!  Well behaved pets are welcome.  We love animals, to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for all clients, including those with allergies or phobias, we simply ask that you let us know when you are bringing pets to your appointments. Licensed service animals are, of course, always welcome.

What is your policy on scent sensitivity?

We strive to be a scent-aware environment to respect the needs of clients and staff with sensitivities or allergies. We ask that visitors refrain from wearing strong perfumes, colognes, or other heavily scented products when coming to the clinic.

Do you accept insurance?

Our Administrative Assistant, Kim, can explore direct billing options with you.  Many of our Professional services are covered by extended health benefit plans. We provide detailed receipts that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement or as medical expenses for tax purposes. We recommend checking with your specific provider beforehand to confirm your coverage details.

What are your fees?

As our practitioners are Independent Professionals, our fees vary depending on the practitioner.  We are guided by Psychologists Association of Alberta's suggested fee schedule.

What kind of sessions do you offer?

In-person, virtual, and telephone.
